I struggled hard with the title of my first post, but first let me give you a bit of history on why I struggled.
Many, many, many moons ago I started blogging via my MSDN blog at https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/krichie/, however when I left Microsoft (the first time.. I’m back btw) I decided that I truly wanted my blogging efforts to be branded with my name, and blog.krichie.com was born.
Much like I had done with my MSDN blog, it was a mixture of SharePoint development related posts and posts about my music endeavors, but over time even that morphed into mainly being about my music.
For the longest time, I’ve wanted to get back into blogging / posting more about development in general, whether that be SharePoint centric or not, but as time moved along, blog.krichie.com had morphed into mainly a channel for music related content, so I mapped music.krichie.com to that blog site and rebranded it to focus purely on my music (and the occasional SharePoint related content).
I’m preparing to start blogging about SharePoint and Development in a re-invigorated fashion and decided I didn’t want to start placing that content on blog.krichie.com, because that’s the same site as music.krichie.com, and I didn’t want to use categories to separate the content. I decided that a site specifically for music and a site specifically for development was warranted. I’ve struggled with this in the past too, but I won’t bore you with those details.
I ALMOST, revived my MSDN blog for this purpose, but then reminded myself I still want everything to be of my own branding. I also want it to be centered on more than just SharePoint, and more than specifically SharePoint On-Premise or SharePoint cloud related content.
I want it to serve content on development in general. I want it to serve content for everything “code” related in what I do, day in and day out whether it’s posts on SharePoint On-Premise or Cloud scenarios; C# or PowerShell; debugging with WinDBG; or a anything else related to development, I wanted it to be separate.
Therefore, what you have before you is the first post for my new development oriented site that I’m simply calling “code“. In a sense you could call it a type of Xenogensis from what has happened before and it’s giving me a sense rejuvenescence for getting back on the development related blogging bandwagon.
Now it’s time to migrate content over. THAT part won’t be fun, and I need to ensure that everything out there that points to http://blog.krichie.com redirects appropriately as there are still quite a few hundred hits a week to those old posts still happening. All of that will be worked out in time.
So, subscribe now and keep checking back. You’ll want to be sure to stay tuned for some other announcements of a whole suite of things I’m “reviving” in this space. It’s sure to be a fun ride 🙂
